Marlin Model 60 .22lr
Bought one a few weeks ago at a pawn shop for $55. It needed a good cleaning but its turned out to be a real fun rifle. The pawn shops around here have tons of them at that price. If you are looking for a cheap .22 you should check them out.

any paperwork ? did you have to show ID ?
was it just a simple cash sale and out the door ? not asking for myself, living in Canada but if someone is looking for a cheap weapon with no paperwork having a 22 around is better than pointing your finger and yelling, "BANG" |

Yeah I filled out paperwork and they had to call the fed to make sure I was cool. Took about 5 minutes to do all that. |
Re: Marlin Model 60 .22lr
I have an old Marlin 60 that shoots fantastic. I love that rifle. Very accurate and gobbles up cheap ammo all day long. It will jam with hollowpoints but round nosed ammo slides thru her just fine. Now i gotta find one for Mrs. Voodoo so we can go plinking together...:D

They are great rifles. Gave one to my brother about 12 years ago. I think he finally wore it out. He loved to shoot walnuts out of trees.
Great rifle to practice with and should be very efficient with small game. |
Re: Marlin Model 60 .22lr
Was my first rifle more than 30 years ago. My son uses it now. Still spits 'em out as fast as you pull the trigger.
Great little guns. |

Re: Marlin Model 60 .22lr
All the pawnshops around here want $130 - $150 for them. Took my son to a gun show a couple of weekends ago, and we saw one with a $125 tag on it. Someone was looking at it, and the seller said, "I'll take $100 for it." They didn't buy it, so we looked at it. It was some kind of commemorative 25th anniversary issue of something (that's how much attention I paid to it), with a medallion embedded in the stock.
Anyway, it was in decent shape, with a couple of dings in the stock, so I paid the $100 for it. The seller did caution us about using HPs, and said copper-plated rounds (like you get in the Federal bulk pack at Wally World) work fine. We took it out the range last weekend, and it was indeed fun to shoot. I like the tube magazine - no extra parts to keep track of! |
